New Affordable Housing Units Open in Regina
A collaborative effort between the federal and provincial governments, the City of Regina, and the National Affordable Housing Corporation (NAHC) has resulted in increased access to affordable and accessible housing for Regina residents with diverse needs.
Today, the official opening of Plainsview Estates, located in the Rosewood Park neighbourhood, was celebrated. The new development features four, three-bedroom stacked town-home units that will provide secure and affordable housing for eight individuals with mental health and physical disabilities.
Residents will benefit from not just a roof over their heads, but also in-home support services and connections to community programs offered by Creative Options Regina. This combined approach aims to empower vulnerable individuals to achieve stability and integrate into the community.
The project was funded through a collaborative effort, with contributions from:
- Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC): $160,000 through the Rental Development Program funded by the National Housing
- Strategy - Saskatchewan Priorities Initiative
- National Affordable Housing Corporation (NAHC): $110,500
- City of Regina: $100,000
This is a positive step towards Regina’s goal of creating a more inclusive and supportive community for all residents.
