Regina Man Arrested and Charged with Second-Degree Murder in 2024 Homicide
A 22-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal shooting that occurred in Regina in May 2024.
On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 1:50 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on the 4800 block of Sherwood Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in the driveway suffering from severe gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed the 22-year-old victim to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
After months of investigation, police arrested Reshaun Norman Cote on the evening of January 8, 2025. Cote, also 22 years old, has been charged with second-degree murder under section [CC 235(1)] of the Canadian Criminal Code.Cote was scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on January 9, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. to face the charge.
Ties to BOLO’s Most Wanted List
In December 2024, Cote was listed as the ninth most-wanted individual on Canada’s BOLO Program Top 25, a nationwide campaign that highlights fugitives linked to serious crimes.
While Cote is now in custody, police continue to seek information on Daniel "Juma" Atem, who remains wanted for his alleged involvement in a separate homicide from July 2023. Atem’s case remains active, and a $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
