The City of Regina is excited to announce that applications are now open for the third annual Indigenous Artist in Residence Program! This residency program is a fantastic opportunity for Indigenous artists (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) living in Regina to develop their practice, engage with the community, and create a lasting piece of art for the City's Civic Art Collection.

The theme for 2024 is "Urban Indigeneity," encouraging artists to explore the unique experiences of Indigenous people living in a city setting.  There are no limitations on the artistic medium!  Past residents have worked in everything from traditional arts to dance, music, and even spoken word.  As part of the residency, artists will also design public engagement activities, such as workshops or talks, to share their work with the community.

This program reflects the City's commitment to supporting Indigenous artists and fostering cultural understanding, aligning with the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
